We care about protecting your data

Thank you for your interest in our company and our products and services. We want you to feel safe when visiting our websites, including with regard to the protection of your personal data. This is because we take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We observe the provisions of the German Federal Data Privacy Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz) as a matter of course.

We want you know what data we collect, when we collect them, and how we use them. We have taken technical and organisational measures to ensure that the provisions relating to data protection are observed not only by us, but also by external service providers.

Personal data

Personal data refer to information about your identity. This includes information such as name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address. You are not required to disclose any personal data in order to use our website. In certain cases, however, we require your name, address and other information to enable us to provide the requested services.

The same applies, for example, to sending informational material and ordered goods or answering individual questions. Where this is required, we will inform you accordingly. Furthermore, we only store and process data that you have provided to us either voluntarily or automatically.

Should you require the provision of services, we will generally only collect the data that are required to perform the services. Should we ask you to provide additional data, this will be done on a voluntary basis only. Personal data are processed solely for the purposes of performing the requested service and safeguarding our own legitimate business interests.

Intended purpose of the personal data

In general, we use the personal data provided by you to answer your questions, process your orders or enable you access to certain information or offers. For the purpose of maintaining customer relationships, we or another service provider commissioned by us may also need to use these personal data to inform you of product offers that could be useful for your company or to conduct online surveys so that we can better meet the requirements and demands of our customers.

Of course, we will respect your decision if you do not wish your personal data to be used to support our customer relationship (particularly for direct marketing or market research purposes). We will not sell your personal data to third parties nor market such data in any other manner.

The use of data for specific purposes

We will collect, process and use the personal data provided by you online solely for the purposes of which you have been informed. Your personal data will only be disclosed to third parties where you have given your express consent for us to do so.

Personal data will only be collected and transmitted to government institutions and authorities entitled to receive such information in accordance with applicable laws or where we are obligated to do so on grounds of a judicial decision. Our staff and all service providers commissioned by us have been obligated to maintain confidentiality and comply with the provisions of the German Federal Data Privacy Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz).

Non-personal data that are collected automatically

When using our websites, the following data are stored for organisational and technical reasons: the names of the sites accessed, the web browser and operating system used, the time and date of the access, the search engines used, the names of downloaded files, and your Internet Protocol (IP) address.

We evaluate these technical data anonymously and solely for statistical purposes in order to further optimise our website and enable us to make our Internet offers more attractive. These anonymous data are stored separately from personal information on secure systems and cannot be traced back to any particular individual. This means that your personal data and your privacy are protected at all times.

Cookies

If you visit one of our websites, we may store information on your computer in the form of cookies. Cookies are small text files that are sent to your web browser from a web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive.

In the process, none of the user’s personal data are stored except for the IP address. This information serves to recognise you automatically on your next visit to our website and to make navigation easier for you. Cookies enable us, for example, to customise a website according to your individual interests or to store your password so that you do not have to re-enter it every time you visit.

Of course, you can also view our websites without cookies. If you do not want us to recognise your computer, you can prevent cookies from being stored on your computer’s hard drive by selecting the web browser setting “Do not accept cookies”. You can read how this works in detail by referring to your web browser’s manual. Please note that if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use all the functions of our website in their full capacity.

Children

Persons under the age of 18 should not provide us with any personal data without the consent of their parents or legal guardians. We do not ask children or adolescents for their personal data, nor do we collect such data or forward them to third parties.

Security

We have taken technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from loss, destruction, manipulation and unauthorised access. All our staff and all third parties involved in the processing of data are obligated to comply with the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz) and to treat personal data confidentially.

Where personal data are collected and processed, the information is transmitted in encrypted form in order to prevent fraudulent use of the data by third parties. Our security measures are constantly revised in line with technological advancements.

Changes to our data protection regulations

We reserve the right to make changes to our security and data protection measures insofar as this is necessary due to technical advancements. In such cases, we will also change our data protection policy accordingly. We would therefore ask you to observe the current version of our data protection policy.

Links

This data protection policy does not apply to your use of any external links provided on our websites. Where we offer links, we do our best to ensure that these also comply with our data protection and security standards. However, we have no influence on the compliance with data protection and security provisions by external service providers. We would therefore ask you to familiarise yourself with the data protection policies published on the websites of the external service providers.
